How much is a 21' frame lightweight Peugeot hybrid worth?

I am thinking of buying a bike off Craigslist that the seller describes as lightweight with an aluminum crank (he does not know what the frame is made of -- I am assuming aluminum). The seller claims that the bike is 6 years old, but the design of the frame -- see picture looks much older. The only other information he provides is that the bike has a Record Du Monde stamp which this forum seems to have established does not correspond to a model title. Any ideas for what this bike might be and how much it might be worth?

Peugeot UO-8. Steel. Bars, brakes, saddle, derailers not original (front derailer a mild improvement over original spec). Looks reasonably clean. $100 max, IMO.

UO-8s come in Hybrids?

Thank you, Kurt.

That is very helpful. I did not realize UO-8s had non road-bike models.

They didnt. Some were available with upright 'northroad' style bars out of the box but would still be considered a road bike.

The one pictured has been converted.

Take a U08 mixte, add flat bars, and you have it.

Is the front fork bent? Probably a bad angle is all, but I would check carefully.

Most C/L sellers don't have a clue what they have, so I would be very skeptical of any "facts" they provide.
