Peugeot Triathlon
My dad has a 1988 Peugeot Triathlon sitting in his office right now that appears to be all original - right down to the tires. A few scrapes on low on the downtube. Shimano 105 SIS gruppo with Biopace. An acquaintence is selling it and my dad is seriously interestd - frame size appears to be 52 cm (

$225-$250 That's a nice frame. Many have a mix of components. The ones I've seen had some Campy, some Shimano. All were nice, light, well-balanced bikes.
Add STI shifting, and it's a nice bike $300-$350. Light enough that if you upgrade to modern shifting, there's really no need to upgrade bikes. Most aluminum that size anywhere near that era are no lighter.
