Help Identify "Shimano Equipe"

I'm thinking about going to look at this bike. I'm not sure how much they are asking yet, but if it isn't much then I might buy it. I know Shimano doesn't make bikes and I know I have seen this headbadge before, but I can't remember where. Can anyone identify it from the headbadge?

Thanks,
Josh

Off brand rigid frame mountain bike. Very little value in the market. At the same time, can make a nice rider/commuter. Just realize come resale time the value will be very limited as well.

Thanks T-Mar.

wrk, the only peculiar about that is the 700c wheels. I guess it's more of a hybrid.

The woman is adamant that it's a Shimano brand bike and she said $250 obo. I think it's a pass.

With 700c wheels it is indeed a hybrid. Older hybrids have similar values to the rigid mtbs. They still can make a good rider, but not at $250. That's about double its market value around here.

I told her that I was expecting $30-40. I don't think that she liked that. Oh, well hybrids suck anyway. With some drop bars, it might make a decent tourer, though.
