Campagnolo aero/non-aero levers, white hoods for $150??

These just went for $150. Are these indeed first-gen C-Record levers?

https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Cause I got some identical to these; not drilled, with logos (no script) and no QR. Mine were at the LBS for $30. They were identified as Record.

A 1984 catalogue says they're Gran Sport.. or Record. Some collectors Flickr sets say Chorus or Triumphe.

Since the hoods alone go for at least $50, would I be able to get $100 for them?

Not necessarily. Certain Campy bits bring very good prices while others do not.

If you post a few pics the Campy aficionados will nail down a positive ID. Until then any speculation on value is simply that....speculation.

..besides the small tear in the inside of the right hood. I'm trying to figure out how I could repair that but it doesn't seem possible so far.

Now watch, there will be a flood of them on the bay. I have a pair of those also, just missing the little buttons that cover the holes at the top of the hoods.

Wow, you guys we could surely refix the value of these here if we wanted to. FYI, I'm down. I could get sets of Modolo's and Superbe's.

Samwiches the small tear places their value at no more than what you could get for a single hood.

Single hood price: $20
Levers w/ 1 torn hood: ??

I've been afraid of that, but I'll have them up for sale anyway as I don't care for the lever grip/action at all, especially from the hoods which themselves interfere with the pull.

Find out the specific model first, it can make huge difference in how much they're worth.

Thanks, I forgot about velobase. I'll call them Corsa Records for now.

I think those are Cobalto or C-Rec levers. they can be used and nonaero and aero correct? but no QR for the brakes of the newer groups from about '88 onward. those are very nice as you can use them nonareo but there is a bigger lever to rest your hands on.

I listed them as C-Record and took a $70 BIN that I had added the last day of the auction.

I have successfully used super glue for such a repair. If you do it surgically, it will be near invisible and, depending on the overall flexibilty and health of the remaining rubber, perform well. This does not make it a "whole" hood, rather a thoughtfully repaired one. But it is no longer a torn one. Some value regained, as far as I'm concerned.

Revealing the repair to a buyer keeps your conscience intact.

I have those same levers with the white hoods on my 91 Basso. Can't believe they're worth $150. BTW, I threw out my campy record pedals like 15 years ago....dumb.

I've got these on my Colnago Master. They were first released on the C-Record, Victory and Croce D'Aune lines in about '85 and you can see the catalogue scans on Velobase, although they seem identical from line to line, the difference was the callipers they were pulling, in my case Delta Pentadrives. My hoods are pretty mangled which is a pity, even more of a pity is what just happened to my bike taking it on holiday with me ;( theres another thread in the framebuilders section for that...

Anyway. They should get about 100$ easy-good luck.
