What is Value PX10?
This is not intended as a sneaky way to advertize. What would be a fair asking price for this 1974 Peugeot PX10? This is the message I've put on Craig's List, but have not had any takers. I don't know if the price is too high or it is just a low demand item.
1974 Peugeot PX10, 62 cm frame, Upgraded to Simplex Super LJ derailleurs and Stronglight roller bearing headset. Mostly original, except for seatpost and stem. Cranks were rethreaded to accept standard pedal thread (not many good French pedals in those days). This was a restoration project, and has brand new brake levers and shift levers.
Good shape, and includes:
Brooks Pro saddle;
Tubular wheelset;
Clincher wheelset;
12-21, 12-24, and 12-28 freewheels;
Original Mafac toolkit;
Crank pulling tools;
45 tooth stronglight chainring;
2 sets of pedals;
Circa 1974 water bottle cage;

Did you put a price, or did you type "make offer?"
Most people don't bother with the latter (especially if it is written "Make reasonable offer"), as potential buyers are generally not in the mood to put up with rude sellers that snap back if the "offer" is "too low" - as if buyers are supposed to have ESP. Not to say that I suspect you're doing so - I'm merely explaining why the statement "make offer" doesn't bring you potential buyers.

If you want to get the most money for the bike, you probably need to strip and sell the pieces on eBay. I have sold two Super LJ rear derailleurs several years apart, both went to the same gentleman in Japan. French parts seem to be very popular there for some reason. Stronglight parts, crank pullers, Brooks saddle are all good items for eBay. The frame and/or wheels could go on CL. I can't see all the details from one picture, but perhaps more than $1000 in parts. Yet you may have a hard time selling it for $600 on CL. It's sad to see a nice original bike split up, would be nice to find a buyer that appreciates the whole thing.

You won't get value for that bike on Craigslist. Needs to be on ebuy. Craigslist buyers tend to want stuff cheap. For base level bikes, you get more on CL than on ebuy, but for the good stuff, it's the other way 'round.

+1 List a price on Craigs List. Its not the place for best offer, auctions. In fact, it is not allowed. If you are in the Portland or Eugene areas, you could get full value out of this bike on Craigs List.

I've been hearing/reading around that Japan's been a hot market lately for classic French bikes and components.
A special effort to reach Japanese buyers might be well worth it and might bring best prices.

At 62, the frame is too big for the Japanese market. Other parts, maybe so.

Larger pics and detail shots showing the overall condition of the bike and components can help a lot, too.
