http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=137029http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=137028I am tempted because this is local pick-up for me.
The question is - Do you think that this frame is worth $200. I already own a few Frejus frames - but think that this may be low-end, 70's. The main reason is the huret rear derailleur. I am not bothered by the mishmash of parts. It look's entry levele 70's because of the rear derailler set up. I asked the seller, and he does not see a serial # on the downtube and size # on the bottom bracket. What do you guys think. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT |
Looks high to me, though in the philly market, who knows. Not just the rear mech, but the drops look lower-end as well...

It was on craigslist a while back with no bites.
In Philly, I've only seen 1-2 frejus frames in and about. I alternate on 3 - but they are all have oiler ports (mid 60's). Super-corsa, I think, which are easy to pick off. Much higher level frames. I am thinking the same thing -> lower-end frame build. I think Frejus & Legnano overlap for a period, but am not sure if they produced bike-boom, lower-end models. This seems it to me - but it's helpful to hear other opinions. |
Drop out screams low end.

Could you school me in low end vs. high end drop outs? Not to hijack or anything.

Here's a comparison of this bike and the other Frejus frames that I own - Note that these are different models. The drop outs below are campy brev. The above drop outs look stamped, which is a flag for low-end, bike-boom. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=137045http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=137047 Now here's a complete bike (not mine). The drop-outs look to better quality. I am not an expert at all on drop-outs - but maybe these photo's help. I see what these guys are saying. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=137050 |
