Okay you guys help me out here
Is it just me or is this priced a little high?
I am still doing my research but have yet to come across anything about the special wheel set (two different sized wheels?)

Any other thoughts/concerns?

Somebody can correct me but the different sized wheels are just to compensate for the small frame size. The rear is a normal sized wheel but since the headtube would be nonexistent/awkward with a normal front, a smaller sized wheel is used.

The Ironman Centurions had multiple levels. This one is an "Expert" and is made with nice steel (Tange 1) and good group set (Shimano 105). Looks to be in good condition too.

However, price is high but if that's your size and you can talk him down some...

It might be a little bit on the pricey side, but if that's in as good a shape as it looks, some small person will pay it.

Definitely priced accurately for what it is, a Terry-designed Ironman Expert, 105 components, with the 24" (actually, "520") front wheel. Here's a link to that thread: https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...ighlight=Terry

As above, the front wheel accommodated a low standover, and a 47cm frame on that design is a small one, indeed. With a 700c wheel, the smaller person has no problem keeping up, and can ride a competitive, small-framed quality bike. Many of those bikes also had 165mm crank arms, and all that I've seen had mid-level to higher components (mine had Cyclone 5000, the Ironman had 105, others were at least that level).

You equip that thing with STI's and modify the rear wheel to an 8/9/10 freehub, you've got a $500-$600 bike. Shorter riders can simply not find quality, light race bikes in that size for that price. Not here, anyway.

+1 Google Terry bicycles. You will find they are highly sought after. Designed for a very short female rider. Options for that type of rider are extremely limited.

I almost went to Cal Poly. I applied there and Purdue.
Somehow, things got crazy, and I ended up bewildered at Parris Island.
I still wonder "how did THAT happen?"

I bought it. I love it!!! It's so fast and it fits me perfect!
There is a sticker on it from the City of Ann Arbor Michigan Bicycle Registration.... wonder how it made it to the west coast...
