1984 Raleigh Elkhorn?
I'll try to get some pics soon, but I bought the bike off Kijiji for $60.
It's a black Raleigh Mountain Tour Elkhorn. I bought it because I wanted to build a MTB conversion Touring bike, but I had some trouble finding a stem narrow enough to fit the steerer tube. I started looking for info on the bike and couldn't find anything.
I found this with some info on the 1985 Elkhorn...
https://mombat.org/1985_Raleigh_Elkhorn.htm
BUT, I noticed a few differences in my bike...
555 Double Butted Cro-moly instead of the 575 Triple butted
Black paint instead of green
It has all the original components and it's in nice shape.
Questions:
What year is it?
How much do you think it might be worth?
Any stem recommendations? 1" Threaded doesn't quite fit.

moving to appraisals
Sorry, don't know anything about the value of that bike or the age. You might be able to figure out how old it is by finding date codes on the components.
I would think that a standard quill stem and standard 1" threaded headset would work. The fork crown race might be the only problem. What does "1" Threaded doesn't quite fit" mean exactly?
