Free Simonelli Racing Bike?
Hey everyone. So the other day I saw this lady was throwing out a bunch of old stuff and I saw this bike in the pile. I had been looking into buying a new road bike but since this one was free I just couldn't pass it up. I tried to do some research on Simonelli but didn't find anything except that it might have been a radsport holczer racing team in germany. So I cleaned this baby up and it turned out beautiful. What I had thought was pitting on the chrome ended up just being dirt and stuck on grease. It has a cinelli frame that seems to have been customized for simonelli (the name and symbol is engraved all over the bike) and it has columbus SPX "Super Butted" tubing. It has Campy Delta brakes, Campy cranks, and Campy rims. The front and back derailleurs are Shimano Dura-Ace and it has Vitorria corsa evo-cx tubular tires which are still in great condition. The hubs are Effeti brand, but I've never heard of them before. And that's all I know about the bike. If anyone can give me any more info on it or what it might be worth that would be awesome. Here are some pictures I took. Thanks : )

Haha Seriously! One mans trash is another mans treasure I guess. It was pretty dirty looking but after about an hour and a half with a wet rag it looks pretty damn good in my opinion.

Thank you. I swear it was about to go to the dump. I was as surprised as you are. It's crazy what some people throw out.

My response from the other thread...
WOW! That has to be the find of the year. C-Record, Dura Ace, and an SPX frame. It looks to be in pristine condition as well. You basically found hundreds of dollar laying on the side of the street.
Those Delta Brakes alone are worth about $250 and I saw a pair of those C-Record Levers go for $150 on ebay very recently. I've personally sold that crankset for $150. I think you could probably get from $80-100 for the two derailleurs. I'm so jealous.

Not sure to be honest. The SPX tubing could lend well if it is ever sold on ebay but prices vary so much and the obscurity of the manufacturer could diminish or even help the the value if it's someone's grail bike or for a particular collector. It's all really comes down to the day and the buyer

Ok cool thanks for the info 5cagm. I'm planning on keeping it so it really doesnt matter what it's worth. All that matters is that I've got a pretty sweet bike haha : )

Cinelli probably had nothing to do with this frame other than providing some investment castings. Thousands of builders used Cinelli castings.
