Need help with my Vintage Colnago

Hi everyone. I have had this frameset for over a year now, I haven't built it up yet or anything, I got it on a trade from a fellow from Italy. So I am fairly certain I am the only owner outside of Italy, not complete sure, but I like to think so.

Anywho, I am having troubles finding out what the exact model is. I did have it repainted with new decals, they are not the exact color or decals as I am going to be riding this bike a lot and did not care to much on it to be exact for its year. I may have that done down the road sometime though. Oh and I do have the orginal fork it is just not pictured.

I have done my research and come up with it being a Colnago Mexico, but really unsure on year and such. I tried to email Colnago and came up with nothing, they haven't emailed back or anything.

Here are the pics I have for it.

I have a very similar colnago frame that had been repainted, as best as I could tell it was an 83 mexico, like the one shown here:

It also just seems like colnago made a lot of really similar frames and didn't document their different models very well. I've even seen really early masters that had similarly crimped tubes and decals. Either way it's a beautiful bike, definitely something to get excited about.

I'd say 1983 or later based on the brazed-on front derailleur mount, under bb shell cable guides and crimped top tube. Definitely not a Super (my wife has one), but could be a Mexico or Master. JMHO.

Yes. That was the color of mine originally. I have read from others helping me on a different forum, that possibly these frames ran from the late 70's to the early 80's like 83 or so, but none were 100% on it. I keep searching and just always find the same info on it. I'm not going to stop though.

If anyone else that can help, pleace do.

Thanks,
James

Yea I was thinking the same thing. Like cmsanfor said, all the info is not well documented for this type of frame. It is definitely not a master, a master has more ovalized tubing on their top and down tubes.

Anyone else have any info, or could possibly help? I still can't really find anything.
