I bought a famous-maker boutique frame, around 64cm, not really in production anymore. What percentage of the total cost does the fork constitute and what's left to the frame, if both are same condition? I assume a range between 20-80 and 40-60, but has anyone experience to back a narrower view? Thank you if you contribute an opinion.

Its more about having an original matched set, rather than the value of each individual piece. A matched set of main frame and fork, with nice original decals and paint, may be worth 5X just the frame, and 10X just the fork (or even more). The sum is worth quite a bit more than either individual piece. But someone hunting an original fork to match their frameset might offer quite a bit more. I bought a nice Look Hinnault frameset a couple of years ago. The competing buyer just wanted the fork, and was willing to let the seller keep the rest of the frame. The seller preferred to keep it all together, so he sold it to me instead.

might have good value to a guy who has a much smaller frame and wants to go threadless.

I have bought only forks for 10 to 20% of what a matching frame and fork might have sold for. Definitely much less than having a matching fork made new.

i've been looking for a fork for an old 24in trek since the year started with no luck. only one has come across ebay and it went for 26 plus 12 shipping. i gladly would have paid that but it's rake was much less than the orig. the guy was selling the frame seperate asking 60 plus 30 shipping and nobody bid. it was a late 80s 330.

that said, at swaps I've seen a handful of nicer used forks priced at 5-10 dollars.

The vendor who ripped me off, vintageparts_1978 of Madrid sold me a fork claimed to be Colnago which doesn't even take a standard stem; even French is too big. The bottom bracket is munged through not using Mavic's chamfering tool with their BB. I had a total refund because the shipment took too long even to leave the bad feedback this "very rare" A**h**e deserved and I voluntarily sent the crook money, unaware of the invisible problems. Kind of harsh to be initiated with the critics' section when on an emotional and fiscal rant.

There is a small chance it might be a 1980 Colnago team time trial fork, as made for the Soviet Team by Colnago.
Undersized stem. Most of the bikes were on the bigger size, all paint, no chrome.
