c.1978 Peugot ID?
I picked up a Peugot at a yard sale yesterday. I've narrowed the years down to either a 77 or 78 by the decals, but I'm wondering what model it is and whether or not it has any value. It says Cadre Allege, but doesn't seem to have any other markings that would say what model it is. I'm guessing it's fairly low end as it has simplex Stem Shifters and Suicide Levers. Additionally, it has Center pull brakes that say Weinmann 610 and Vainqueur 999. It has a three piece crank, it's 10 speed, and it's rims have vertical lines on them. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Can't say a whole lot without pics but you are correct - what you described is an entry level bike. (I believe Cadre Allegre refers to the steel not the model name).
The "lines" on the rims were intended to assist stopping (Chromed steel rims need all the braking help they can get)
Depending on condition, it has at least some value: Even Peugeot's most humble offerings made pretty good riders.

Stem shifters assuming original came on the AO8, UO8 and UO9, all three came with Weinmann brakes.
Its entry level, value is all about condition.
