1984 Trek 420 Pewter ... Northroad style bars? Original or aftermarket?

Hi - looking at a 1984 Trek 420 Pewter color. Has upright Northroad style bars. Did some come like that or is this probably aftermarket?
I'd be using as a grocery getter so I like the upright bars. But curious if came stock.
Any info appreciated.
Thanks

Aftermarket. Look at the on line catalogs. Typical drop bar bike.

Since the change is what you wanted anyway, thats a plus. On resale, that would be a minus, but relatively easy to change back.

wk101 - thanks, i had checked the catalogs and didnt see any upright 420's so thought I'd check here. I'll make sure to check if anything else was changed other than the bars and i'll assume levers.
