apparently only the frame is original. still waiting to hear back on what everything was replaced with

everyone thinks almost every bike is custome built!

everytime asked about the size of the last Bianchi I pickedup I just got the reply "it was custome built in Italy" so I ask was the frame custome built for the owner? "all we know is it was custome built in Italy" I believe the original owner got a bare frame and built it up.

so this bike could be anything from the brake levers don't match the catalogs the seller has see he it is "custome built"

sounds like what this is. here's the list of 'custom components' I got when responded to.

New handle bars wheels, i just got mr. Tuffy inner tubes put in for 40 dollars to prevent flat tires .. brakes are excellent. I've never heard of a 'texas special' though so maybe not.

Though I did get new pictures, so hopefully this will help get an idea from some of you experts.

The Olympic was the bottom end, or near the bottom of their product line.

any idea of it's value? it's my size so am hoping to keep it if I got it and use as a backup

I think later on this was true (and this bike is from later on) but they were clearly mid-range in the 1980s. Suntour aRX, symmetric shifters, that kind of thing. Originally Nishikis were produced in Japan by Kuwahara and were positioned above their own branded bikes in the U.S. Kuwahara's importer eventually discovered they never properly registered the Nishiki name so they started producing their own bikes and putting Nishiki on them, and the brand slipped into sporting goods store quality from LBS quality. This bike isn't one of the Kuwahara ones.

I'm guessing he's asking $150-200. I might pay the $150 but not the $200.
