No info on this bike at all, need help!

I'm new here and found this forum while searching for possible help in identifying this bicycle (I also have a children's bike but I won't push my luck right away). I don't have any grand delusions that it's worth a ton of money or anything, but I do want to know what to do with it. Knowing who previously owned it I wouldn't be surprised if it's some no-name bottom of the line bike.
However, I'd still like to know if it's something I should make a "free time" project to learn more about bikes, if it's something I should pay to get restored, or if it's something I should just sell to somebody who has the means to restore it. The emblem on the front of the bike is gone and for the life of me I cannot find any other legible text on the bike. The best I can do is estimate it to be a 60's bike. http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=209941 |
That could be a pre-war bike. Does it have a skip-tooth chain?
Look at the balloon tire bikes in our Picture Database, trying to match that chainring with the bikes in the database. |

It definitely looks like a skip-tooth from looking at examples online, here's a close up of it.
http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=210121 I can upload more pictures as well... Like I said main thing is I don't want to make it some weekend project when it should have been something that went to a collector. |

This one looks like it has the same chain ring...it's a '49 Roadmaster. It doesn't seem to be an exact match otherwise though and in the posters description he says he doesn't know what it is. Is there someplace else anybody recommends for help on this?
