Identify this Peugeot

Hi all, looking for some help identifying this old Peugeot bike I bought at a yard sale from the original owner. Based on the information I found on this page, I assume it's a '70 to '74. Model unknown. More information: Simplex derailleur and shifters, Mafac "Racer" calipers and brake levers. Serial number 1969680. Can anybody tell me the year? Model?

Here are some photos.

You got the time frame about right, looks like a UO8.

Fairly heavy but very well regarded vintage ride, I love the bottle and cage!

Mafacs are awesome brakes, the Simplex DR's could be replaced with no worries as they are prone to failure, Steel wheels could be replaced with alloy for a nice weight reduction and improvement in braking.

If you're looking for a value it's tough because it's very dependent on your market, even though UO8s are widely appreciated for a great ride there were LOTS of them built and so they are fairly common.

Typical UO8, Peugeot made millions of them during the bike boom. There are several Peugeot catalogs on line if you want to narrow down the exact year.
