Can you identify this bike? Mystery...
There's a local seller with an interesting bike. I'm trying to figure out what it is before I head over and make an offer. Here are some pictures:

Constant tinkerer
Everything except the Cyclone RD indicates a 1970s French bike. It's a high quality bike with the forged dropouts and nice crankset. How much is he asking? I'd probably pay $200-300.

Based on the lug work and components my guess is that it is a mid to late 70's Motobecane they used mix of French, Suntour and some Italian components at this time. A nice bike wouldn't be a bad buy if you can get it for $200 or less maybe $150 the wheels look a little rough and well worn.

French almost for sure. The lugwork is nice but the lugs haven't been thinned, which is common on high-end French bikes in the 60s & 70s. The seat stay caps & the open ends of the stays on the rear drop outs are on a number of Lejeune frames I've seen. Lejeune is my best guess.

Not sure about LeJeune, no chainstay cable stop and cable housing ring on the seat stay, if LeJeune then from the 60's.
The apparent lack of braze-ons push it to the 60's to very early 70's to me.
More willing to vote LeJeune if the seat binder bolt has no separate nut, just threads into the ear.
