70's Stronglight crankset
Ok I have a Stronglight crankset 38/52 that I think probably came off a PX-10. Awesome condition. I mean not a scratch. teeth are unbeleivable. What do these go for on Ebay/ CL? I know shipping is a factor. The previous owner painted some metallic blue in the berm or the crank arm which will cause sqwauking here, but it will be stripped off.

There are a few different Stronglight crank sets, some worth considerably more than others, and I do mean considerably more. If you were to supply pictures depicting condition and model, you will have a much better chance of determining a fair value. Or...
You could do a search for completed listing on Ebay, targeting Stronglight crank sets. That will give you a pretty darn good idea of value.

+1 Do a search on ebay completed items only, many sell every week. Realize preparation AND presentation are everything, and ebay is the land of variation in pricing. Oh yeah, and you really need top notch feedback rating and reasonable shipping to get the best bids.
Unfortunately, selling locally here would net very little money, a small fraction of fleece-bay. Your town could be different.

Steel cottered crankset should go for a lot less than a 49D or 9X series, or Spidel. Expect about $50 for steel cottered. Spidels go for upwards of $300 or maybe more. Depends, in other words. Pictures would be helpful.

Ok I'll try to post a pic soon. There's no model number on it, it just looks like the standard one you always see on a PX-10.

Check the pics that ChicagoAl linked to. Most likely, if yours came off a PX10, it is the SL93, a very good classic road crank. These regularly go for $70-125 in good shape. The SL 57 and SL63's are relatively rare; they tend to go for more than the 93's. The SL99
was made for only a few years in the mid-late 70's. It doesn't have that "classic" 5-pointed star pattern and IMHO is undervalued. The nice thing about the SL99 is its smaller BCD, which allows you to convert it to a triple.

Most likely, the set in question is the 93 or 99 , too lazy to go look again (takes sip of beer) but will follow up. The set is on a UO-18C mixte , which was upgraded to the point of ridiculousness, so now I have to take it off and try to find a jap crankset that will fit the spindle tapers, yeah good luck. There's no way I'm gonna flip this crankset to a rail trail soccer mom. I was going to leave it on to save my sanity, but it's worth as much as the bike, plus I kinda want it for myself...
