1987 Schwinn Voyageur
What is the value of a 1987 Schwinn Voyageur in perfect shape. The biopace chain ring shows almost no wear. All bearings have been cleaned and repacked. The bike is ready to ride.

There were a couple later 80s Voyageur threads recently. IIRC, the number was $350. A quick search should bring them up.

Any pictures?
Frame size?
Does it come with racks, panniers, etc?
New (good quality) tires? Something like Paselas. Continental Gatorskins would be a big plus.

Frame size is 25 inches.
It has the front and rear racks - no panniers.
3 water bottle bosses - only one cage.

Realize that number I posted was for a well marketed bike with lots of photos. With no photos and minimal description you're looking at a lot less than that, or you'll sit on it forever waiting for a buyer that is familiar with the Voyageur. It also assumes excellent condition which, again, is impossible someone to judge without seeing the bike.

Here is the CL ad:

Let me know.
I would personally buy it for $350.
Unfortunately, I could not get to Columbus this weekend.

Oh, you're buying it!
Looks nice!
Sounds like the guy either cancelled his plans to go touring, or he's a "flipper" (no Gatorskins in that case).
Worth checking it out if it is your size, especially if you want/need one for touring and/or commuting.
If it needs tires, handlebar tape, and/or the work he did it a bit "off", or it's not 100% perfect... maybe you could try nailing it for $260 to $300 cash.
See if he has a set of panniers, and other stuff to throw in.
Sounds like "Let's Make A Deal" time.

Yes - I am interested in the bike. I do not have enough.
Thanks for the advice on dealing.
I do have a blue hat - kind of like the picture.
Should I wear that when I look at the bike?
He may tell me to take the bike and get the heck off his property - saving $300.............
