1986 Ritchey ascent

Unfortunately, this frame is far too large for me. Ideally I'd like to trade it, but I'd like another quality MTB in my size... So I'd lke to know the approximate value.
Would possibly entertain trading just the frameset, but it's been complete this long, so I would preferably see it go as a complete.

I've followed ebay for the last 2 months or so and nothing close has been sold.

It's an '86 in pretty great shape. Original bars are gone unfortunately.
XT components, dura ace hubs, araya rm20 rims.

Cool bike! I bought an '87 recently for $300. The seller said he had multiple responses within hours of posting the bike. I consider yours more valuable with the deerhead and dura ace components. Ritchey MTBs come up for sale so infrequently, that if you aren't in a big rush to sell it, I would list it for $400-500 just to see what happens. The only issue I see is the size, that's a big bike.

Very cool bike but the super huge size just kills it. What size is that thing anyway? MTB sizing has changed quite a bit since the 80s, now an XL might be 21 or 22". Not many people looking for bikes that large, especially MTBs.

Sad to say but this one might be a part-out for any real money. The components definitely sound cool.

Thanks for the inputs fellas. It's a 23'' frame.
I don't have big money into it, so I don't need to get big money out of it.

It's a very cool bike and the right person will come along eventually.
Until then I'll keep struggling to ride it around the neighborhood with my 32'' inseam.

Nice bike in great condition, just too bad it's so big! Nice parts spec for a lower-end Ritchey. I believe some of the Ascents were US-made, which would add to the value if you find that right buyer. Check out www.oldmountainbikes.com for lots of Ritchey info. Shoot me a PM if you're interested in parting it out.
