Can someone provide me an opinion about these 2 bikes?

https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/bik/3024845727.html -> original components
https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/bik/3029006058.html -> quick release = easy theft

I need a <$200 bike for college. These two seem like good choices, but which one is the better choice?

I would say the Nishiki. Newer, cheaper, better condition. If it's the right size for you it's the better deal. Make them an offer even you might get it for a few bucks cheaper.

Oh but if you get it, lower the stem about an inch for safety's sake. They have it so far up it's not even sitting straight, it's just asking to pop out and cause an accident.

+1 On the Nishiki, but expect to have to put some $$ into it. It is really slapped together. I would expect it to need a thorough service.

A Google image search for 'Nishiki Modulus' is surprisingly not safe for work.

Yeah, the Nishiki is definitely the better bike. It needs a complete service, but if it was ready to ride in better condition it could be priced about $75-100 higher.

I'm not seeing any major problems with that nishiki and it's a much better road bike. Exage is pretty dependable. If you don't lock your bike then either one of theses will be stolen.
