Vintage Jeunet
Who can tell me wether this is a low-end or better Jeunet? The seller says it is from the early 70s. Any idea on dollar value? Also, I am trying to find out if it is the right size before I take a drive to see it. The seller says "the stand-over height is 2'9", and the C-T measurement is 2'. The person who rode this bike is 5'8" "
I am a bit confused because according to charts a bike for me would have a C-T measurement of 22.5" and I am almost 6 ft tall. Also, the seller claims it functions as it should, and the saddle is newer (as it shows in the pics)
There is no picture of the component group other than the mafac brakes that seem original. Please advise assuming the bike has the original component group and it is in working order. Thanks

Looks like a Jeunet Franche-Compte. Search that and you will find tons of info.
No driveside pictures worries me a little, but the components on these were nothing great so I wouldn't worry about it. Saddle is awful, cables look trashed, tires are no good unless you're doing cyclocross or riding in the snow, this bike needs some work. I would put its value at $50 as-is.
Regarding the size, sellers almost always get the size wrong but it does look like a 24" frame. I'm 5' 9" and I could ride a frame that size but the seatpost would be rather low. Look at the picture and see how slammed the seatpost is.

Standover height 2 foot 9 inches is about right (33 inches) and should be close to your size. Low end bike, but attractive.
Expect to do a little work on it, and read up on french bikes from that era, as they used some unique (obsolete) parts sizing. Not a deal breaker, but can hamper modifications, or at the least, make changes more costly.
Kind of looks like it has the standard, plastic Simplex components. They were an interesting design, but have proven to be fragile. But it is hard to tell from those pics. If it has metal derailleurs, I would go higher than the amount mentioned above.

This is a slightly lower end model Jeuenet. Looks to be original with steel wheels and cotter pin crank and needs some work I would say its worth about $75 you could go a little higher if you can do the work yourself and realy like the bike. As for size it looks to be 24inch/60cm I have a Jeunet this size and I'm 6' and it is a good fit.

Thanks to all. $50 to $75 sounds about what I was thinking, seller asks for $100 so it sounds about right. It certainly needs tires, cables, seat, and components taken apart, lubed etc since seller says it has been hanging on a garage wall for decades.

It's a Jeunet 620 I think. Lower end, but nice looking. If you are your own wrench, French issues are not particularly overwhemling. I think, needing work, your estimate is spot on as to price.
