1976 (?) Super Le Tour 12.2
A local church donated this bicycle to a mission with a feeding program. I was disappointed to find the frame just a wee bit too tall for me (zero stand-over clearance). But I thought I might post here to inquire about the value. Based on Ebay,it looks like people are willing to pay $100+shipping for a nice SLT bicycle. This one needs a good tune up and a new rear tire but has obviously been stored indoors (no rust on cables). Not sure if you can tell from the head badge pic, but the 4-digit date code ends in "6" and this looks like the 1976 catalog picture, not the 1986 picture. I dunno about the stem shifters though:
What would you guys be willing to pay for this bike? You know, "For the Children."

I'm no expert, but maybe $250 if you're lucky?

Unless you are an experienced seller on ebay, and have good, positive feedback on shipping bikes, then selling on ebay is not such a great idea. Ebay is the land of variance. Sometimes, sellers get some really good bids, often they do not.
Still need some (but less) marketing skill to sell locally at full market.
The ~ $100 shipping cost hurdle makes selling bike like this on on ebay marginal for the buyer. Add the hassle of packing and shipping, and it gets less attractive. I just spent three hours, packing and shipping a bike. OK, I am slow on the packing part, but even dropping it off at Fed Ex was a hassle. First, I needed to go to a Fed Ex ground location (30 minute drive away). Well, they had some techincal issues, so they sent me to the airport where Fed Ex had a terminal (another 30 minute drive). On and on from there. Now I live in a small town, in a big town, you probably would not have to drive so far, but its still a hassle.
I would hone up on your marketing skills, and post on your local C/L. Check our for sale forum, another member put up a really nice one for $150, I don't know if it finally sold, but it was there for a while.

I would craigslist the bike in the 150-200 range. As in, list it at 2 and take 150.

The bike looks to be in nice condition for a mid 80's Le Tour the decals date the bike to around 84-85. Depending on market you should be able to get around $150-$200 on CL. This bike just isn't high end or rare enough to merit selling on Ebay.

The Super Le Tour 12.2 was only made for the 1976, 1977, and 1978 model years, so the OP is correct that it was assembled in 1976 based on the head badge assembly date code.
I agree with the $150 - $200 value estimate. These bikes represented a significant improvement over the '74 and '75 LeTours in that they were built with double-butted chromoly top tubes and down tubes, and had alloy rims.
