Schwinn Passage?
I recently found this schwinn at a yard sale, it says schwinn passage on it. The color is red. Doing a little online research this seems to be very similar to the one in the 1986 catalog, but it also resembles a 1987 voyageur because of the color. Headbadge says schwinn chicago with a code 2097. It has tenax columbus tubing. A blackburn rear rack. Weinmann 215 rims. Shimano 7 sis rear derailleur. Sakae cx cranks. I'm just wondering whats up with this bike, so little is know about the schwinn passage and how much it is worth?

I have one that I bought new in that exact color.
Last year they were made, IIRC.
Extremely comfortable geometry.
Mine came with a Huret DuoPar RD (yup, THAT one) and a SunTour FD (LX I think)
Those turkey levers are NOT stock.
It should have a third set of bottle bosses on the underside of the down tube.
Lot os room for a full size pump BEHIND the seat tube.
I think the only real difference between it and the Voyager is no front rack lower bosses.
If everything works on it, it's a great buy with the original BB rack.
Clean it up and you should be able to get $250-$300 for it, easy.
The only problem I see is the small size.

I sold a 1986 , dark blue one last fall for $285 , all dialed in with new tires, etc. They are nice bikes, IMO

Looks like a really nice bike, I'm so tempted to keep it. The small size Is ok with me, but I don't have the money to fix it up right now.

Nice score It is a touring bike, and it seems to be in good condition. These bikes in nice condition are definitely are worth $250 to $300. You are lucky it still has the rear rack with it.
