Need help; how much this bike is worth?
Hello,
Complete newbie, I got this bike for 100$ from a friend. He told me I could sell it for much more if I wanted to.
I won't sell it for now but I am considering the possibility according to the sum I can get.
There is some spot of rust, scratched surface and used paint. I am wondering if it could worth more if I repaint it. I can preserve the vintage stuff.
Here is the bike:

incazzare.
Depends on the market where you are, but to me that is a middling quality + beat up frame with a bunch of mis-matched parts. I think you could sell it for $150 here in NYC. Less in markets that aren't as hot.

It looks like the frame was bent and straightened back out (judging by the line behind the lug on the top tube.) If that's true, it's worth the sum of the parts + a few dollars for the repaired frame. A repaint won't be worth the effort in my opinion, it's a mid-range frame with fairly low value.
FYI, I have a Voyageur 11.8 and I love it, but I also know it's nothing special.

Please don't confuse ebay "asking" prices with "selling" prices. Many sellers never get their ask price. some are far from it. Value is determined once an item actually SELLS. Its easy enough to check SOLD prices.
