Okay so I've finished my first frame up rebuild and now i need to make sure i'm in the ball park on the value. Here are the pics.

Everything on it has been services and consumables replaced. Tubes, tires, cables, brake pads, chain, bar tape, all bearings greased.

What would it pull in your market?

I'm getting almost no responses to my CL ad i'm asking $250 obo for it am i dreaming at that price or is it just stale because the riding season is coming to an end. What am I doing wrong here?

don't know if it's kosher to link my CL ad here so i won't do that.

Yes, you are dreaming at that price. Cheap steel swaged crankset, 27 inch wheels with steel rims, high ten steel frame, bottom end stamped components. Around here, price would be about half, or less. $250 gets you a nice cromoly frame vintage bike, with mid grade or higher components, very light weight, and 700c wheels with alloy rims.

On flips in my area, I do not waste time on low end bikes, as they take the same amount of time to rehab, and take the same $$ in parts and consumables. Serious riders want something better. Recreational riders want something cheaper. So you either price it for the cheaper market, or you luck out and hook a newb. I count on repeat business, so I won't go the "hook a newb" route.

Just for the record aprently I'm my market $200 was the magic number. Dropped asking to $195 and had to interested buyers that day. Sold for $170. Had a full price offer try to scoop the 1st guy which I had already agreed to sell to when his offer came in.

I hate getting scooped so wasn't going to do that to the first guy. Made $14 "profit". Which I drank at the nearest pub.

Now onto my next "project" bought it cheaper and i think it needs less $ (famous last words I know)
