1987 Ironman Expert Considering Moving On :(
Not sure what I'm gonna do yet, but considering parting with my Centurion Ironman Expert. Details in this thread:
https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...ert?highlight=
Haven't really ridden it since then.
Side effect of too many bikes....bike is 23" and near perfect!
Wanting to assess current value and such. And no, I'm not trolling to avoid listing it on the For Sale Thread. I just wish to know potential value and if promising, I'll upgrade membership and list appropriately. Trades are possible also, of course.
Thanks!

In spotless, ready to ride condition, in a decent market, $300, maybe $350 come selling season.
While you will see ****ers on fleecebay asking $500 to $600 for some of them, they are not selling. An Expert did bring $400 on one ebay sale recently, a couple of Masters over $500, plus shipping.
Someone got $200 for a scarred up frame.... Wow.
As far as the Miami Vice colors, most of my bikes go to college students who like the "retro/1980s" look.

The value on this is whatever someone is willing to pay. I was in the same spot about a year ago. I really wanted one but after I got it I realized I wasn't it (or any bike really because of work) and there was no room. So I sold it and now I want one again.
I see these listed on ebay anywhere from $250 up to over a $1000
This looks really nice and I am very tempted. Any interest in a unpainted unknown 61cm frame? Maybe we can make a swapp of kind.

One thing I've found about these Miami Vice-era Centurions is that the color scheme greatly affects value. Wacky pastel combinations, you either love it or hate it.
In my conservative market, more like $175-225, because a lot of folks didn't care for the colors. They either wanted one solid bright non-pastel color or neutrals.

Yes and Yes. I posted the wrong pic you can't see the DUI bars
I would grab that in a second at 200. trouble is by the time I add shipping I am back up to 250-260

I recently sold my 1987 expert (23" red/white) for $340 over craigslist in the middle of winter. It took about a month to find the right buyer though.
If you are not in a rush to part with it, there is no reason you can't get $350ish if its in good/excellent condition.
MTA: It was too big for me. Now on the hunt for a 56cm at a decent price.
