Ritchey P-23 MTB

The components look like they have been replaced with low end parts, but the frame looks to be in good shape and intact and could be built back up with the correct high end components. Any thoughts on this one? Looks to be the original fork.

I don't believe that's a P-23 - from the pictures, I think I see lugs. The P series were either tig welded or fillet brazed and didn't have cable braze-ons along the top tube.

The seatstay cluster and seatpost binder is wrong too. Find some P23 pics and you'll see. Looks like someone is faking a P-23.

I just purchased this so called p23 crazy Pete bicycle for a very low price it has different brand components but I'm concerned about the frame being authentic can anyone enlighten me? I can post more pictures if you need me to. Btw the serial number on the frame reads PX751598

Looks like strategic brand engineering to me on both, harder to tell on the second one as the images are small.
Ritchey used a very distinctive seat stay cluster assembly, brazing style. and other attributes, such as the ovalized seat tube as it meets the bottom bracket.

You won't like my answer, but that's not a Crazy Pete - seatstay cluster is wrong and that isn't a Ritchey serial number. I hope you didn't pay too much.

Thanks for your input guys. I got it for a pretty low price so that was my first warning sign. The bike is still ultra light though and it rides way better than the walmart bike I had before. I'm just gonna give it a paint job to cover up the fake ritchey logos
