68cm Bridgestone Altair

Does $650 sound reasonable? With the Brooks, Carradice, everything in proper working order... It is worth much more to me as it is exceedingly rare to find this big of a frame, but I really want a touring bike. How much do you think I should be asking?

No, price is way high. Overbuilt for selling, fine for keeping. Around here, less than half that price. Add a premium for Portland. XL bikes, while hard to find, are even harder to find buyers for. XS bikes are also hard to find, but there is a huge influx of predominantly female riders looking for them
There's another one, SAME size, on Portland C/L for $425 (overpriced as well).
Just for future reference, this model was early 1980s Bridgestone, came with high ten steel fork, 27 inch wheels, middle of their product line back then. Stock around here, such a bike would be $175 in ready to ride condition (I have Miyata's version right now, and will be listing it at that price).

Please don't confuse ebay "asking" prices with "selling" prices. Many sellers never get their ask price. some are far from it. Value is determined once an item actually SELLS. Its easy enough to check SOLD prices.

I've bucked the trend and often seek out the largest and smallest frames to rebuild. It's been a successful strategy for me, as really short & really tall riders often have a difficult time finding a nice used ride.
Having said that, I also price said bikes very reasonably, because otherwise you're gouging a market for which there is very little demand otherwise, and the chances of no sale increase exponentially with time.

Small frames are like gold around here, not really bucking the trend. Now the big stuff, yes, you are a trailblazer there.

Agreed on taking off the extras. Keep the Brooks (put on a decent generic saddle), keep the saddle bags, leave the rack if you want. You'll have to buy all that stuff for the LHT anyway, right?
Price would be way high around here too. If it sells, more power to you. But without the extra stuff I would feel lucky to get $300 for it.

Thanks for all the input from everyone. I am removing the ad until I decide what to keep and what to sell. Guess it's not so bad to have three bikes in the stable, right?

I'm 5'4. I test ride every bike once I'm done. When I started flipping bikes, my wife, who is also a cyclist, would give me the stink eye every time I lugged yet another 69cm monster to the attic or basement, and say "Is that for you?" knowing full well I could barely reach the pedals.
