70's Peugeot Road Bike?
I found this gem on cl a few days ago, and the condition seemed nice. Can anyone help me identify the faults and problems along with the model?

It is an early 80's model based on the checkerboard graphic on the top tube. Vitus tube set is nice. Look for a paper tag by the left side crank on the chainstay, it will have the model designation. Also, all Peugeot catalogs are on line.
Photo #4 shows cracked cable housing. Likely the bike needs a full overhaul and new cables/housing. $175 at the local bike shop, $50 if DIY, but you need some basic tools or a local bike cooperative.

First, Welcome to the forum.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it appears that the frame is bent. Look at the top tube near the head lug. It sort of bows down. That along with a replacement fork leads me to believe the frame is bent. Good news is there are good parts on the bike. And the bike may ride just fine the way it is. Just watch the steering, could pull one way or the other.

On the same topic as vintages, this one worth buying? I see the cassettes are busted and the front and rear derailler needs replacing along with the chain. The wheels are 700c and the frame is beeauutiful. The wheels need replacing also.

Read up on frame fitting first, you are all over the map size wise.

One of the sellers is lying. More than 2 cm difference in the two frames. Nihiki looks like a 52 and Pug looks like a 58.

Seller says that the tires need replacing. I meant that the cassettes are starting to get shark fins. Overall, size is wrong and I'm passing on it.
