1988 Specialized Sirrus - part out or not?

I have a 1988 specialized sirrus which is too small for me and too large for my wife (55cm). In very good condition, doesn't look like it was ridden much. Even original water bottles are present. The components are bio-pace shimano 105 group (6 speed indexed downtube), with 105 levers, brakes, and hubs.

What would be the best way to get about maximizing money from selling this bike? Sell as a whole or part out? Are these specialized frames worth anything?

In general, you maximize by parting out...but it takes more time and effort

What about in a case like this, where the frame is not particularly desirable?

In the past I've sold frames on eBay for more than the whole bike locally, however I have some doubts about this one.

Well nice pictures did the trick. Sold in 1 day on craigslist for 250

maybe my asking price was too low.

250 for local sale sounds pretty strong of course often depends on location --maybe in top shelf shape in socal, bay area or other similar expensive locale you could have gotten more but who knows. Any sale without commission can be jacked up 15+% via online sales (plus the hassle), so I say you did fine. Have not seen the 88 sirrus in person but looks good in pictures, very similar build as my 88 trek 560 which I love. Overall you did better than many on this era, I would say whoever picked it up was probably buying to ride, so best value was probably realized on both sides.

Never did see any pics of yours though, was it the blue/green mixed w/white frame? Lets see what kind of million dollar pics moved at ask.
