Modern Shimano 105 groupset on older steel road frame- bottom bracket?
I want to put a modern Shimano 105 groupset on an 1988 Bianchi Campione D'Italia. What kind of bottom bracket will I need? Or more generally, what kind of problems will I run into re: bottom bracket.
Thanks,
chris

You can get an italian threaded bottom bracket. The headset is no big deal if you want to change it; just go with an English HS and never go back to Italian. The threading is just a little different so you don't want to go back and forth. Someone will come along to confirm whether this bike is Italian threaded but I assume that it is.

+1 Your Bianchi should take the headset no problem and as for the BB you just need to figure out the right length ISO for the frame and crankset. Are the cranks ISO square taper or modern Shimano in either case you can find the specs you need at a better quality shop or online frome Shimano.
