Can you help me identify this model of Schwinn?
Curious about the build quality of this model. What grade of a bike is this? They're asking $100 and they say that it's been tuned up recently and from the pics, it looks pretty clean. Maybe a good deal?
Thanks!

Look closely at the head badge for four small, lightly stamped digits. That four digit number represents the assembly date of the bike. The first three digits are the day of the year (001-366), and the last digit is the last digit of the year. It looks like it might be a 1983 Traveler in charcoal with silver. What are the components (crank, brakes, derailleurs)?

I think you're right Scooper. I can't quite make out the numbers, but here is a pic of the sticker with them.
Also, not sure about the components.
How much mike you expect to pay for something like this with decent components in this condition?

If it is an '83 Traveler and is still pretty original, it's got chromoly main tubes, hi-ten fork, and alloy rims. It's mid-level, and if it's in decent shape (no rust, no dents, neither stem nor seatpost stuck) it's easily worth $100.

It's a fair price, but it looks like it was set up by someone who doesn't know anything about bikes. Stem and seatpost are either crazy long or are set dangerously high. This is a small framed bike, if you're over about 5'6-5'7 it's not gonna work for you.

Yep; it looks like the 21" frame size.
