Centurion Ironman
Just curious what you think my Ironman is worth in it's current condition:
Centurion Ironman Master Dave Scott - Pedal Room
cables, bar tape, brake hoods, 7 speed freewheel and chain are all new. I have the original saddle and post as well.

In Glendale (or here in DC), more than that. Group set looks to be in exceptional condition & I wouldn't be surprised to see it go for $500 where you are.

...I bought one in that same colourway here in NorCal two months ago for about $200.
It needs some looking at, but the paint's good, I just haven't had time to overhaul it.
If it's well maintained and all that new stuff you're talking about is recent, probably more like the $300 mentioned.
There are certain price points in old bikes, and I've not seen these go for up into the 500-600 range (at least around here),
because they made and sold a bunch of them, and they are often lighter gauge tubing sets (Tange #1 versus #2 ) that
makes them a little flexy feeling for a lot of guys in the larger sizes. Most of the people looking for light go with other
frame materials now, so one of your main selling points gets lost.

Thanks for the opinions guys. Probably not for sale but I'm still trying to thin the heard a little bit. If I could get closer to $500 I would probably sell it but it does fit me perfectly and ride is so smooth.

Still learning
SoCal seems to have a plethora of Ironman's available. Therefore, I didn't add a premium for Master or Tricolor. In fact , there is one currently listed at $280.

I've sold four of them in the last few months for $575 each. None had 600, all were 105 (1050).
Granted, they were complete restorations that needed nothing, but I'd still consider them valid data points.

That's twice as much as I would expect to pay for an Ironman needing minimal work even on the Chicago market. Well done!

If you saw the bikes he was selling you would understand the price. They looked better than new and certainly better than most new entry level sora/claris bikes that sell for $800-900

I'm not unfamiliar with Robbietunes' and rccardr's work Perhaps I should clarify that while I do like the Ironman as a frame, it doesn't represent to me something that I would pay $575 for even in "better than new" condition, with 105. I think it's just personal preference. On the other hand, I would CERTAINLY pay $575 for the '85 Schwinn Peloton done by rccardr (which he's posted before). And, if he were to give me a choice between the Peloton and an '84 Centurion Turbo (precursor to Ironman), I'd pick the Turbo.
