Bianchi limited
Hi I found this Bianchi limited last year in black with Shimano 600 group setup. I was wondering what year they came out and how much it worth? Thank you.

That is either an '85 or '86 however it possible it is an '87 also. More details will tell the difference.
As for its value... Somewhere between $200-300 depending on the condition.
At a quick glance it looks in pretty good shape but I think I see a few scratches on the top tube (TT). It also looks like it needs a good cleaning and the rear brake cable loks too short.
If I was looking to buying it the first thing I would do is check the wheels to see how straight and round they are, and tires for wear, cuts and dryness. Then check the chain for stretch, which if severely stretched may mean I need to plan on not just a new chain but maybe a new freewheel (FW) and chain rings. Brake pads would be next but I general replace them on any bike I buy older than 5 or 6 years anyway. I could easily see spending $75 to 100+ to rehabilitate that bike (of course in person that might be different after I see the above mentioned items). Depending on how it checks out I would want it much closer to $200.

These were lower end, for a Bianchi bike. As Bianchi expanded their line-up in the early 1980's. The (non-aero) brake cables should be looped over(behind) the handlebars. Unless you have stem shifters. I'd ride it. The regular steel frame bikes, are a small & pricy niche today.

Lower end? Columbus tubes and 600 group is low end? Not counting the ATBs, Volpe and Portofino there are 6 recreational or sport bikes below and 6 performance/competition/professional bikes above it. I don't think I would call it low end. entry level racing maybe.

So pretty good, possibly really good, depending on your take on all things made in Japan. It was more bang for your buck back then.

The Limited and Brava kind of flip flopped, like a politician, between Italy and the Orient depending on the value of the dollar to the Yen and Lire.

I just sold one of these. Same group, same paint. Mine was clearly marked as Columbus Formula tubing and carried the Made in Italy sticker. I got $400 for it, and think that was fair for both parties.
