Good Trade? Centurion Elite RS

nice centurion elite road bike

I'm looking to trade my Peugeot Tourmalet '89 55cm for a slightly smaller bike in height and this Centurion Elite RS is in a 52cm. Would this be a relatively good trade or not?

IMHO, a bike with Shimano 600 means you're coming out ahead on this deal

I owned an Elite RS a few years ago. Pretty nice bike but it was a bit small for me so I sold it. I think it would be a good trade for you. The 600 components would seal it for me.

I would do it also. Looks like the Tourmalet often came with a helicomatic freewheel. That was a neat idea/design, but in my somewhat limited experience are not the most robust freewheels. They do not wear well - I have had to replace the 2 I have come across. If I was picking between the 2 bikes in similar condition - I’d take the Elite RS with 600 components.

Thanks to everyone I picked up this bike today! I couldn't be happier. It's still steel but for some reasons it's lighter and now the height is a better fit and everything rides great!
