Bridgestone XO-3

I've had this XO-3 since buying it new, and I think that was in 1993. I don't know much about technical details, I do know that I got new wheels for it in 2009 (26"). It has some scrapes and scratches and the caps on the shifters are gone. However, the bike is quite usable. I did this year’s local (Seattle) Chilly Hilly ride with it. I know some people like the old Bridgestones and there are plenty of cycle fanatics around here - any idea what it's worth? A couple hundred?

Being a Bridgestone fan (and an owner of one like yours), I would place it a little higher than that, 300-400, maybe. Even with the bit of damage. It could go higher (say, on the ebays) as the 1993 XO-3 is not like the 1992 version (but not a 1994 either).

I know they come up quite often in CA, OR and WA, but you don't come across them very often down here in Texas.

For me, it would be a keeper though.

Welcome to both @dangnab and @XelaXela ...but...Xela, I disagree...300-400 in this shape is setting too high an expectation. I agree with @oddjob2 on the value...150-200...and...I also own a number of Bridgestones...so, I have some understanding...now, of course, markets will make it a bit different...but in the Atlanta market where I am...150-200...

Yes. hehehe. I've gone bananas when I see them awesome prices while browsing the CL ads from OR/CA/WA from time to time.

Thanks for the welcome

@dangnab You mention new wheels as being 26" what were the OEM wheels?

Do the shifters work?

I don't know if it is those big black tires but something about this just doesn't look appealing to me. Didn't these come with a road brake lever or was that just X0-1?

These can be quite pricey to replace, a buyer looking for one of these will have a good idea what they cost and want a discount because of it.

Pardon to jump in....

The original rims were Araya CV-7 (I think I see a presta valve, which are correct). Tires were Ritchey Tom Slick (tires on the pic look to be Continental).

Brake levers look correct, they were Dia Compe. It was the XO-1 which had the road type brake lever.

Bridgestone Bicycles 1993 Catalogue page 65

Original saddle was Avocet Touring. So original is missing.

I guess I'm partial, biased. This bike (with its beausage), doesn't look too bad.

If you read some of the forum rules you'll see how to post pics. Dredging up a 2 year old 'zombie' thread to advertise your bike for sale is not only crass it violates the rules.

Posting pics is actually easy. You are welcome to start a new thread asking for advice on how much your bike may be worth but, if you wish to post your bike for sale on the forum you need a paid membership to post in the for sale section.

That member was last active seven years ago and only posted twice.

Also, if you're trying to notify someone through a mention, you must use the "@" symbol and then write out the full name, like this: @dxf853. Do not choose it from the pop-up list. The easier way to do this is to quote the post.
