Univega parts bike...

It's my size and I have a Viva Sport and Nuovo Sport already and this would be a perfect beater bike for me. What would you pay for this bike?

Maybe $50, if I wanted to use the frame for something. $100 is too much for this. For that price it should be complete or in better shape.

I agree with Jake, $100 is too much.

FWIW - I recognize the shop decal - Village Cycle in Chicago. They have a nice little swap every August.

I got the guy down to $50. I can rob a stem and handle bars from my parts bin along with a seat and seat post. It's ok with me if its a frankenbike I will just be riding it on my lunch breaks at work so that I don't have to carry my nice bikes back and forth to work.

Yea. Now that I have raised the seat on my 63cm frame some, I think I got the seat where it needs to be now and everything feels pretty good...I don't have any soreness in my knees anymore and my thighs are feeling the burn now. Yea, I think he says 64cm but I would measure it to be sure, because a lot of people do not know how to measure a frame!

That's a long head tube- Odd that its only 34" standover since it looks like a 25"/63.5/64cm frame size.
If it actually fits and is only $50- i'd thing that would be tough to beat when what you want to use it for is to just pedal around.

Standover height is lower when the tires are flat!

I went and looked at it today and brought my 8 year old daughter with me...I will take her with me to every bike venture now! She starting pointing out all the stuff that I need to replace and have to get for it and she basically talked the guy down to $30! So we walked away with the bike. Pictures are as I got it and after two hours of robbing parts from other project bikes I have the last picture is right before I road it around the block a few times. It has Suntour components and is all original except for the stem that was missing and the seat and post. Suntour V-GT Luxe RD. Serial is G K177396 D the G and D are small letter stickers before the stamped numbers. What year is this? I am thinking 78 or 79?

$30 is a great price. I'm pretty sure it's a 1984, or very close to that. Check out a PDF of that catalog here: https://univegacatalogs.files.wordpr...ga-catalog.pdf

Yes definitely happy with $30! I have $73 in it now with new tires/tubes/tape. Are you sure its that late of a year? I still leaning toward pre-80's.
