motobecane - what do you think?

ROAD BIKE 10 SPEED

what model/year might this be? i'm going to give it a test ride tomorrow...aside from comfort, etc., what should i be looking for on the frame?

thanks!

turns out it is a mirage. the frame says 1020 steel on it. the crank is labelled sugino vx150. the rear derailleur is labelled "shwinn approved le-tour". the front derailleur is labelled thunder bird-II. the wheels are araya. it's probably obvious that i don't knwo what most of that means.

The bike looks to be a bit rough condition wise I would say it will likely need a overhaul and some parts to be truelly ready to ride. If the wheel set is alloy and pretty decent can't really tell from pics and everything works good the price is OK for NYC.

Much higher than a Nomade, Nomade was lowest in line, did not have chrome socks, cotterless alloy crank, QR etc. It really looks like an old Le Champion to me, but thats probably way too optimistic.

The strait edges on the lugs and claw hanger would likely indicate a lesser model like a Nomad. The crank brake levers shifters and wheels are non original replacements upgrades later vintage than the frame which is fairly common on boom era French bikes.

Missed the claw hanger, still think its higher in the mine than Nomade though. Maybe better clearer pictures and components would be helpful

Bunch of cheap replacement parts on a low end frame. It would need to be cheap. Given you are in a hot market, cheap is a little different than here.

Considering that some of those parts are pretty low end and kinda random like the owner just put whatever they had on the bike, the price maybe a little on the high side.
