Bianchi from 1964
Hi, I am hoping to find some help with this bike, I believe it was bought in 1964 but I don't know the model and the specs are Campagnolo.
I don't know what kind of chainset is on the bike, it does not appear to be Campagnolo but everything else seems to be. What do you folks think this bike might be worth? No rust anywhere but there are some chips in the paint. Thank you very much! http://i.imgur.com/sqQDMKH.jpg http://i.imgur.com/eoODxSm.jpg http://i.imgur.com/6aWD4HP.jpg http://i.imgur.com/PAnf1tk.jpg http://i.imgur.com/qUr98i9.jpg http://i.imgur.com/RDSecwL.jpg http://i.imgur.com/8V00ojY.jpg http://i.imgur.com/CuTs13M.jpg http://i.imgur.com/0o32qZY.jpg |
hello tonytonytony,
welcome to the forum. :) that is really something you have there. thanks for sharing it with others. ;) it has lots of plusses from a historical/collector standpoint: it is complete and all original, nothing has been altered. there is no damage. it is a quality model. the top model as this time was something called the specialissima. this cycle is one or two models down from that. do not know the name. other readers with greater knowledge will be along shortly to give you additional input... |
Welcome tonytonytony. Beautiful bike but sorry it is a bit old for me to be of much help.

That crankset is something else. If it were mine I would have to think long and hard to part ways with it for less than $2000.
Stunning bike. |
Thanks for the replies, the bike looks quite good for fifty, where would i find catalogs to show me the model name?

If you know a source of Bianchi catalogs from 1955-1983, I'd like to know. You don't see them on the internet.
Prior to 1955 - paramanubrio: CATALOGHI After 1983 - http://members.jcom.home.ne.jp/my_bianchi/catalogs.htm Definately a second tier bike, but very sweet nonetheless. Campagnolo stopped making the Gran Sport in 1963, and was second tier then. Your bike could be prior to 1964, or the shop put on an older derailleur, which is common. Look for a date stamp on the hub lock nuts, more for fun as they aren't the most accurate. If on ebay, I would expect $1000-$1400 |

velobase hosts a catalogue from 1973. not much help in discussing current subject of course. VeloBase.com - Catalog Scans |
Tony, Tony, Tony ….
Tell where you found that thing? I wouldn't do anything to that bike. Except a careful cleaning. real nice. |
Very cool!
