1981 Maruishi Road Ace and 1999 Bianchi San Remo
I've recently been looking for a nice solid road/touring bike to do some commuting and have is having a hard time finding some on craigslist my size. But I did stumble upon some and wonder if they're worth it. Thanks for any input.
1999 Bianchi San Remo
Bianchi Road Touring Bike w Campagnolo Componentry - 52cm Steel Frame
I like this one but it's a little outside my price range but I might buy it if he is willing to lower it. Visually, everything looks really nice and hopefully it fits. Is the price reasonable?

I need to get more information on this one but this bike would probably be a restoration project because it's got quite a few rust spots, missing seat, old parts etc. etc. I don't know what model it is but it may be a lower-end model and based on a little research, they are not very popular but they're still solid bikes. Will this one be worth it to restore?

That's a mighty big difference in price ($75 to $375) but it looks like you have your size figured out. The bianchi is a nice bike and the price is OK. Looks like the rear wheel has been replaced which suggests that the seller has been taking care of things.
The bianchi will make a fine commuter and a fine all around bike for most any kind of riding you might want to do.

I agree the quality level of the Bianchi is above the Maruish. The Bianchi may be a bit above your price range but looks ready to roll and has a triple crankset and three set of bottle brazeons (could be a nice thing on long hot ride in Tucson.
When add up the parts and labor to bring the Maruish up to a good riding state your probably close to the Bianchi's price plus you still have to upgrade the drive train if you want a triple and use clamp on bottle cages.

looks like yesterday the bianchi was listed at $425. I'd take the quick price drop to mean the seller is wanting it gone, and would probably go lower if cash was waved in their direction. But it also might mean there is something up with it (like its stolen) and they dont want it listed too long.

not sure how far this is from you: but its a nice bike: tang 1 tubing (my favorite) with suntour cyclone says its a 54cm, but it looks smaller... might fit you. seller has the seat WAY up and thinks it fits 5'7"+. it is a bit of a racer though.. the bianchi is probably a better commuter but this one is at $250.
