80's Fuji Mt Fuji LTD MTB

Hi all, i've been a lurker for a while now, never had anything interesting or informative to say, so I've kept quiet.

I've recently come upon an 80's Fuji Mt Fuji LTD MTB- it's in decent condition- some surface rust from chipped paint and the paint is in OK condition. All the original parts are on the bike, and it rides super sweet, I just don't need another MTB laying around.

Components are pretty much full gruppo of Suntour XC

So my options are:

1. Get it running well and sell it complete

2. Part it out on ebay- maybe keep the frame and wheels and make a single speed commuter out of it.

What should I do? It seems a shame to part out a relatively unique old MTB that still has the original parts, but complete bikes dont' sell for much in my area.

Part it out fully, including the frame. Be careful not to mar any of the finishes. Polish and clean any rust and take exceptionally nice photos against black or indigo velvet.

You said that you don't need another MTB. Sell it all.

I agree Falcon3, I think parting this out is the wrong way to go. You might sell the crankset an derailleurs pretty quick but I don't think there are that many people looking for RollerCam brakes. If you sell the brakes what would you do with the frame? I wouldn't but a rollercam brake bike unless the brakes were on it.

I think you should glean it up real nice and sell it whole.

I agree with Bianchigirl, if you're going to part-out keep the brakes with the frame.

Thanks all. The frame is really the worst condition of all of it. Quite a bit of paint damage and surface rust. The rest of the gruppo is in amazing condition, and given what things are selling for on ebay, I'll probably part it. I'll be lucky to get $100 out of it as a complete build, even living in BikeUSA (Flagstaff, AZ). Everybody here is too into brand new $6000 MTB and road bikes, and the rest just want a crappy single speed or suicide fixie.

wrk- The Suntour hubs are amazing- laced to some Araya rims. These things sail!
