1975 Raleigh DL-1 Ladies Tourist - What's it worth?
I found this bike while searching on Craigslist recently and wondered what is a reasonable price for a DL-1 bike? The owner is asking $450 which seems much higher than it is worth. I thought I might offer lower, but I'm not sure how much would be a reasonable offer for this bike. It looks to be in good condition, but I don't know anything about bikes! Btw, the seller is in the Denver, Colorado area. Here is the Craigslist description:
"A very nice DL-1 being sold by original owner. Serial number starts NH5 which makes it a Nottingham UK bike built in June of 1975. Still have the original receipt.
Rarely used over the last 40 years as my wife did not much care for it, spent most of its time hanging from the overhead in the garage and shows rash from a number of moves. The Brooks B72 shows wear as well but is still very useable. The tires (28x1.5 on Sturmey Archer rims) appear to be original as well and will definitely need to be changed out. The 3 speed Sturmey Archer hub works fine. Brake pads changed at some point in the misty past. Tire pump works fine as well."
I am attaching the pictures the seller included in the listing.
Thanks to anyone who might be able to help me!

Still learning
The chrome and paint are in VG condition. The tires will need replacement soon, they look dried out. Use that as a negotiating point. I just bought a men's of the same age for far less, but no Brooks Saddle, nor was the chrome as clean.
These bikes do command a high price in trendy urban markets. You can search ebay solds for comps. I would start at $300 and make your best deal possible.
