2000 Lemond Zurich vs 2010 Roubaix w/ new Ultegra
Hello, I'm currently riding a Jamis Coda comp. I'd like to get a drop bar bike for longer distance riding. I love the ride of steel, but would consider carbon if the deal is right. I am considering the performance difference between these two bikes on ebay. I would also like suggestions on a fair value. Thanks for the help. The Zurich would need pedals and a new rear wheel. The Roubaix is ready to ride. The Lemond is local
which is always handy. I know the Zurich will be a bit heavier and smoother over the road. Is it worth buying the Lemond and hitting it with new wheels and a new ultegra set? Or, just buy the Roubaix or something similar?

Hi stellablue, welcome aboard.
I always advise folks not to buy bikes online unless they've had a chance to ride and evaluate them first. Nothing beats an in-person test ride. Five minutes should tell you most everything you need to know. Heck, the first few seconds usually do it for me.
Either of these bikes is a fine ride, but one of them might speak to you more. Trouble is, via ebay, no way to test ride first unless it's a local sale and the seller is willing.

I'm going to look at the Zurich today. Would someone please look at the add and give me advice on fair value. I'm thinking about 400 or so considering it needs a new rear wheel and pedals. Also the 105 rear D is badly scratched and is not original. What say ye?
