I know Trek 728's are nice, desirable bikes but for a comparison I just bought a 1982 614 and paid $150. It's not top of the line but it's a decent bike (it also has caliper brakes).
Edit: I mean the 614 is not top of the line. The 728 is, I believe.

It doesn't look like it has cantilever brakes on it. That would make it a tough deal for me. It would have to be practically NOS. Around $600 would be a better deal.

I can't quite tell, but it looks like the 728 posted has the extremely rare Gran Compe 450 centerpull brakes, which would probably sell for $250 or more. $900 for the whole bike... oh, I don't know. I sure would like the brakes, though.
