1974 Bianchi Campione del Mondo

Hi all,

On my routine forage through craigslist I found this (supposed) Bianchi Campione del Mondo from 1974. It needs some love and attention but could be fun project to bring it back to life. It has universal brakes and record derailleurs. Please see attached photos - any comments, advice or valuations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

They are not record derailers, they are Valentino. Crappy. The Universal side pulls are second tier also. The frame looks nice, parts are not as good as the frame, It may be an Ideal 90 with alloy frame saddle pretty nice it the leather is not degraded. Tubular are not popular. I'd say 150-200.

It does not have Record derailleurs. Looks like Valentino or Gran Turismo or something like that? Lower end stuff. Lower end frame tubing. Hodgepodge of other components. The hubs might be Record, but I can't see for sure.

You know, it has so many stickers that say "Bianchi" on it that I half-wonder if it's not a knock off.

Bianchigirl will probably know more, but I would not spend a lot on that bike.

the Campione del Mondo is just a sticker, not a model name.

model is Rekord, which is one up from the bottom of the lineup for this time.

to see many more Bianchi Rekord bicycles just enter "Bianchi Rekord" is the search window at google.

also the forum has had numerous threads on this model. just enter the name in the search window to bring them up.

Jvela beat me to it. Should be a nice rider but nothing special. This placement of that Campione Del Mondo looks funny, I thank back in those days it was on the seat tube. BTW just because that decal says -73-74 doesn't mean it is a '74 it could be a few years later.

At least it has a RD hangar and doesn't use a claw. You need to get some drop out adjuster screws so you can get the wheel set forward where it belongs. Dropout Adjuster Set Screws w Springs Short 30mm New Pair Vintage Restoration | eBay

What kind of hubs are on the wheels? If you want to try the tubular wheels you can get some decent tires from Yellow Jersey, 3 tires for $50. Don't forget to get glue.

Thank you all for your help. I knew it wasn't a high end frame but have no idea about campy stuff for that era.
Cheers!
