Help! Need to appraise Guerciotti frame + other parts

Hi all, I had a bike built for me about 5 years ago by a friend of a friend of a friend. Needless to say I moved and dont have his contact info, let alone what the connection to him was. Anyway, I'm moving again and sort of need to sell it, but I have a feeling it might be worth a bit of money and I dont just want to throw it up on craigslist. Let me preface this with I dont know much about bikes, and the only thing that may be of value is the frame.

Its a red Guerciotti frame, I think a 56. No clue how to identify the year/model on it though. Time carbon fiber forks, shimano 600 gears. Thats all I really know. Its in good shape because it was always kept in side and I only rode it about 10 times. Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

I purchased a Guerciotti via Craigslist last summer for $400; the seller had placed the ad numerous times asking $465.

I was happy to pay $400 for it because it had the following things going for it:

1) Columbus TSX
2) Mavic/Dura Ace 7700 wheels with titanium cassette
3) Campagnolo Chorus 9 Ergo levers
4) Campagnolo aero seat post (likely Croce d’Aune)
5) A few beat up Croce d’Aune parts

My bikes are like your Guerciotti – a mix of parts that work fine together. That can kind of hurt the value of the whole bike when it comes to selling it, though.

In the case of your bike, I wouldn’t care exactly how old it is but would want to know what tubing the frame is made of. Is there a decal we can’t see in your photos?

I’m not an expert vintage bike buyer, but I would ask $400 for your bike and expect to be talked down (and remove the pedals for any ad photos). A more complicated process would be to sell the frame & fork on eBay, which may fetch $200-250 alone. People are into the old Ultegra "tri-color" stuff these days so those items would sell for a few additional dollars.
