Sure. Techniums (Technii?) were made between '87 and '93 in Kent, WA, to take advantage of Boeing's research into bonding dissimilar metals. Technium is not a frame tubing, it's a way to bond dissimilar metals. The most common configuration is alu tubes bonded to cromoly lugs, but all kinds of variants were made, including this one in Reynolds 531.

Other than the Technium part, it's a fairly standard "funny bike," or time trial/pursuit bike. If you're thinking of riding this one yourself, I hope you are young and incredibly limber, because otherwise, this bike can be a lesson in self-flagellation.

Sorry wrong answer but thank you for playing! It is not a Technium, it is a standard lugged steel frame. Look closer at the Battaglin stampings I the frame/fork.

WOW this is interesting. It appears to be a mid '80 Battaglin Time Trial frame (very likely a 10SPD Drive frame) that someone put the Raleigh decals for whatever reason. Maybe their local team was sponsored by Raleigh who knows.

Most of the components aside the rear hub look like the original Chorus group from '88 to '92ish. If you want a nice TT bike I would say $500ish for this would be an OK price.

BTW most of this guys bikes are over priced by $1000. I don't how he got them, since he claims to know nothing about them, but he is asking too much for them. The Ti Merckxx mike be worth $2200ish to the right buyer that while Colnago probably tops out at $1200.

Eddy Merckx AX Titanium $2200

Vintage Colnago $2400

+1 to Bianchigirll's assessment: definitely not a Raleigh, much less a Technium. Odd that the description says "Columbus 531." Peculiar error, that.

If the OP is interested in buying it to ride it, be advised that with such funny bikes, the seat tube length is immaterial for sizing purposes. The effective top tube length (i.e. the horizontal measure of the distance between the head tube and the seat tube) is what you need to know. The pictured bike is correctly set up, unlike most you see these days, with the seat way up, as ridden by people who think the seat tube length should be identical to that of a conventional bike that fits correctly.

Bikes: No-name LH drive track. Also ride an Exxon Graftek, a Masi, a Trek R200 or a RR Boneshaker for fun!

Agreed - but that is a sweet Hi-Lo hub on the back of that Colnago...but not worth that $1K premium over going prices...

That is one crazy looking Raleigh. Way above my pay grade. It's got a little bitty 531 sticker right between the h and n on the top tube. I guess that must stand for Reynolds tubing?

I totally missed that! Very cool bonus on this one.

It isn't a Raleigh, it was rebranded for some reason, it is a Battaglin. Very likely Columbus SLX at the very least SL.

DISCLAIMER: NO accusation toward anyone is being made by me in this post - simple information only being provided.
It's not unheard of for bicycles to get "re-branded" by certain short-term possessors who have no legal title to an object with unique appearance like this one.
Be very careful when buying "re-branded" items like this, they may have a history which may be bad and which might pop out to bite an innocent buyer.
I suppose it is a remote possibility that this mismatch is the result of a team sponsorship...but Raleigh was always very proud of their frame-building (before they were bought out).
