Help me identifying my Alan Bike
 

I recently bought a aluminum Alan bike, which I think is from 1988.
the ID that is recorded under the seat is CMB188.
Can someone help me to identify the year and model?

I am not sure about the year but it appears to be a Cyclocross frame.

From what I've read, I think this is a Alan Competition frame (Alan Super Record and Competition - The differences) and the number (188) I think that means it's from January 1988. But i don't know what means CMB before the number. I think it's the model, but witch one?

You are correct, this is a Competition. Older frames had a different numbering system than this one (mine is a 80 Super Record). The fascinating thing about these frames is that they won the world cyclocross championships for several years in the 1970's - but they were badged as Guerciotti frames - which is one reason the Competition has no ALAN engraving on the fork. These are great all-around riding bikes for the "lighter mass" cyclist, and with aggressive cyclocross tires and a wide gear range make passable "mountain bikes" if you ride with a bit of finesse and remember you have no suspension to forgive your errors in guiding around obstacles.

So how do I know if it's a Alan or Guerciotti?
What does it mean "CMB" on the frame?

In all likelihood yours would be an Alan, as the ones marked as Guerciottis were issued to race team members.
As to the "CMB" prefix, I'm afraid I'm not of any help since your bike is nearly a decade newer than mine and the numbering system changed at some point.
