1940's gazelle city bike-help with value

I recently acquired this vintage Dutch Gazelle bike from my grandmother. I'm not very knowledgeable in bikes so I was hoping I could get some help in this forum with the value of the bike. Its in descent condition and really has only sat in a garage from what I have been told. Its from Holland and is supposedly built in 1941 according to my grandmother. I would appreciate any feedback about the bike, If needed I can post more pictures.

thanks

Must be one of the last before the factory closed due to the war.

Prime example of the breed, but though to value. Many people just ride these old barges into the ground here in the netherlands, but where you live that might be different.

Amazing detail still present.

Assuming those are Sturmey Archer hubs, they will have the last 2 digits of the year stamped on them. You can confirm the age.

Welcome! Those were actually known as 'priest's bikes'. Sturdier (and heavier) than the ladies' step-through model. Nice example.

Google "pastoorsfiets" or "kruisframe" and you'll see many more examples. They're still being made. Achielle has two in the line-up.

so after looking at it, i couldn't really find a date on it, maybe its because it has been restored once and the numbers are covered or something different I guess, I talked to my grandmother again and she now says 1944 is the date. So its safe to assume the manufacturer is sometimes in the 40's. Its a neat bike but I have no use for it, it would need to be restored before someone could ride it; the tires look fine but the paint is a bit chipped, missing a rear light and the inner tire tubes are blown. does anyone have an estimate on what they think this bike could be worth?

There's currently one for sale here. The seller wants €495 (which seems steep to me); the current best offer is €220. Follow this ad and see what happens to give you an idea.

i'll see how much the one listed as €495 sells for since its a bid. But I at least have an idea that its worth some where around 300-400.
thanks

You're welcome. I was a little surprised, actually. Apparently these are more special than I thought. It is a small market, though, so if you want to sell, do the homework and find the right place to advertise and present it well. A blurry phone pic on your local CL probably won't cut it.
